Kidney Care First—What you need to know
Kidney Care First is one of two new Medicare payment models under the Kidney Care Choices program. The program incentivizes participants to better manage kidney disease to delay the need for dialysis and encourage kidney transplantation.
KCF’s first performance year is slated to begin on April 1, 2021. Participants will have a short implementation window beginning in Oct. 2020 to review their data and develop a strategy for success in the program.
